About

Councell Craftsman beginnings are rooted in a passion for the craft. Working with wood has long been a pastime and hobby for myself. Working with my hands was always familiar to me as  I’ve  studied various areas of craft such as plumbing, electrical work, framing, finish carpentry, woodworking, furniture making, tiling, kitchen and bathroom renovation, roofing—basically from the foundation of the house down to the details, I had an interest in understanding it all.

I found my truest passion in woodworking in 2005, and I turned the passion into a successful small business, entirely relying on word of mouth in the south Asheville community.

Councell Craftsman aspires to provide quality and detail oriented work for each client’s individualized needs. I approach each job with an enthusiastic perspective to create masterful works of practical beauty, combining function, design, and innovative techniques into the finished result. From additions to decks to custom-built entertainment centers, I not only provide the standard of quality that sets my work apart from many tradesmen, but as an artist I enjoy opportunities to utilize alternatives to normal materials.

It is the aim of Councell Craftsman to achieve goals within your budget, providing competitive service with a personal level of communication you may not find in larger operations. I value an efficient work environment and adhere to details such as immaculate site clean up after each day on the job. I also take into consideration the environment of the work site and aim as much as possible not to impact your day-to-day operations as the project is ongoing.

You will occasionally see family members assisting me with work as all 5 of my children and now sons-in-laws and a few of my nephews have enjoyed the opportunity to learn about woodworking and carpentry, not to mention that I occasionally also need a few muscles and extra hands! And thus, a family man, what better name for a business than Councell Craftsmen.

I look forward to meeting and assisting you with your project!
